Strategic Planning

There are as many definitions of strategic planning as there are books on the subject. Reading across a number of those references, it becomes clear that strategic planning includes these key characteristics; it is future oriented, it should influence decision-making, and it should identify ways in which the organization will achieve its future. Strategic planning is generally considered an executive responsibility, but in higher education, all levels of the organization need to plan in this way.
