Duderstadt returned to teaching and research after retiring as president of the University of Michigan in 1996. He also serves as director of the Millennium Project, a research center concerned with the impact of technology on research and teaching. His teaching and research interests span a wide range of subjects, and his books include Higher Education in the Digital Age, A University for the 21st Century, and Intercollegiate Athletics and the American University. He has received numerous awards for his research, teaching, and service activities, including the National Medal of Technology for exemplary service to the nation. |
