Designing for the Future, Connecticut Community Colleges
Presenter(s): Grace Sawyer Jones, Three Rivers Community College; Lenell Kittlitz, Board of Trustees of Community-Technical Colleges; Ira Rubenzahl, Capital Community College
Convener: Kathleen Pepin, University of Michigan - Dearborn

Community colleges in Connecticut are evolving from a previous era of local entities into versatile centers of culture, education, training, and socialization. In any given classroom, one can find veteran professionals changing career paths, a new graduate seeking a springboard for university applications or a mid-level manager bolstering skills. The many faces of the community college have as many demands on their facilities. This session will demonstrate the success design has on elevating the perception in the community, scope of programs, caliber of student, retention, and recruitment.

This knowledge resource from SCUP is a concurrent session presented at the Society's thirty-eighth annual, international conference and Expo, SCUP–38, in Miami Beach, FL (USA), in July of 2003.

Audiocassettes and MP3's (on CD's) of these and other SCUP–38 sessions are available for purchase here.
