Partnership in the Desert: A Vision Becomes a Campus

A vacuum of higher education in the rapidly growing Coachella Valley as well as changing demographics were the impetus for creating this exciting partnership between California State University and the ³Desert Communities.² This presentation documents the challenges of how this partnership created a new campus, from conception and master plan to implementation and groundbreaking.

This knowledge resource from SCUP is a concurrent session presented at the Society's thirty-seventh annual, international conference and Expo, SCUP–37, in San Diego, CA (USA), in July of 2002.
