A New Funding Model‹Mission Possible!
Presenter(s): Thomas K. Anderes, Oregon University System
The Oregon University System implemented a resource allocation model in 1999 that enhanced decision-making by the university, the Governors office, and legislature in a surprisingly profound way. Participants will leave this presentation with specific model components that: better reflect board priorities, assure objective costs are linked to peers, initiate performance-based budgeting, support greater institutional autonomy, and address legislative concerns for an understandable and objective budget request. Strengths and weaknesses of structure and process, both internally and externally, will be explored. |

| Due to our concern for the privacy of members of the face-to-face audiences at SCUP37, our digital archives of SCUP37 presentations end at the beginning of the question and answer portion of each session. Whenever we can, we not only provide streaming audio but the slide show or visual presentation used by the presenters, as well. |
