New Facilities for Science Reflect Changes in Institutional Mission
Presenter(s): Michael C. Lauber, Ellenzweig Associates; Robert Newland, Rowan University
Today¹s science buildings reflect profound changes in the mission of the sciences at colleges and universities, and reveal shifts in institutional mission overall. Science teaching facilities provide increased research opportunities, more interdisciplinary study, heightened interaction, increased technology, and increased campus and community outreach. Graduate research facilities promote interdisciplinary initiatives that bypass traditional departmental boundaries, foster partnerships with industry, and anticipate future developments. This session documents these trends, explains their evolution, examines future directions, and illustrates facilities that embody these trends. |

| Due to our concern for the privacy of members of the face-to-face audiences at SCUP37, our digital archives of SCUP37 presentations end at the beginning of the question and answer portion of each session. Whenever we can, we not only provide streaming audio but the slide show or visual presentation used by the presenters, as well. |
