Williams Village at CU-Boulder: Critical Alignment of Town and Gown Missions

The goals of an institution and those of the community in which it resides are like the poles of a magnet: they often repel, but occasionally they attract. The Williams Village at the University of Colorado-Boulder has experienced both forces. The presentation will examine: the forces that once separated the parties and the ones that now unite them; the master plan that will guide the development of this mixed-use project; and the implementation strategy that will ensure eventual success for all stakeholders.

This knowledge resource from SCUP is a concurrent session presented at the Society's thirty-seventh annual, international conference and Expo, SCUP–37, in San Diego, CA (USA), in July of 2002.
