Stewardship of a Historic Campus Landscape‹Integrating Institutional Mission with Planning
Presenter(s): John S. Bryant, Mount Holyoke College; Stephanie J. Hull, Mount Holyoke College; Christopher Jones, Carol R. Johnson Associates Inc
The venerable Mount Holyoke College is well known for academic excellence as well as its dignified architecture and landscape. Coincidental with its landscape master planning process, the college received two major grants for green design and the integration of environmental education into the campus. This session will examine one component of an inclusive, ongoing planning process that articulates the college¹s mission, envisions landscape changes to support that mission, evaluates priorities in light of available resources, and develops strategies for implementation. |
