Presenter(s): Joseph A. Hibbard, Sasaki Associates Inc; Jeffrey R. Kacos, Michigan State University; William J. Latta, Michigan State University; Christine M. Teike, Sasaki Associates, Inc.
Convener: J. Thomas Bowen, University of Georgia

The campus physical environment can express an institution¹s mission dramatically and visibly. Depending on its configuration and condition, it can also send the ³wrong messages² and detract from the campus mission. A distinctive master planning process was implemented at Michigan State University integrating students, faculty, and staff. The process connected stakeholders, academic programs, and the physical campus, and resulted in a planning framework that addresses physical change within the context of the campus mission.

This knowledge resource from SCUP is a concurrent session presented at the Society's thirty-seventh annual, international conference and Expo, SCUP–37, in San Diego, CA (USA), in July of 2002.

Audiocassettes of this and other SCUP–37 sessions are available for purchase here.

Due to our concern for the privacy of members of the face-to-face audiences at SCUP–37, our digital archives of SCUP–37 presentations end at the beginning of the question and answer portion of each session. Whenever we can, we not only provide streaming audio but the slide show or visual presentation used by the presenters, as well.
